We've been sponsoring the Tech.MN news blog for some time now and it's
always been a great source for hearing about what's going on in the tech
community. One post of recent interest was Jeff Peseks article on the
most recent MinneDemo we sponsored. The videos are amazingly helpful.

Jeff hits' it right on. MinneDemo was held at St. Thomas this time
around and the location was fantastic. Once again, MinneDemo was sold
out in record time and we saw some great demos:

    * Inveni: a discovery engine where users receive highly personalized
recommendations based on their custom taste profile and facilitates
effortless sharing and socializing with friends (Aaron Weber).

    * Qonqr: an augmented reality combat game, winner of Startup Weekend
Twin Cities (Scott Davis, Justin Peck)

    * Passy-Pass: a is password generator and storage device, written up
    by the Make blog (sigflup).

    * Zipnosis: Doctor e-diagnosis tool with mobile component. Winner of
Minnesota Cup Student Division in 2008. (Ben Peirce & Jon Pearce)

    * Daybreak Heroes: a new social game for the iPhone, integrating
some revolutionary ideas into the blossoming social game genre (Evan
    McMahon)

    * Evolve: Evolve is the online hideout for your gaming alter-ego.
    (Adam Sellke & Michael Amundson)

    * Event Burn: an online service that makes social media more useful
by finding and summarizing the good stuff (Dan Frankowski)

    * LitLift.com: a free novel writing application thatŐs helping
hundreds of authors make the most of their limited writing time
    (Brad Marsh)

    * Sophia: makes knowledge easier to share, easier to find, and
easier to organize. Sophia lets you teach what you know and learn
    what you donŐt (Steve Anastasi).

    * Minnesota Hockey Hub: Bringing pro level functionality to the
masses via the SPORT NGIN platform (Carson Kipfer)

February 5th, 2011

We love Roller Derby!

The championship bout is over and the Rockits have claimed victory! The
Dagger Dolls entered the championship bout undefeated but lost their
momentum to the almighty Rockits! But wait! Just because the
championships are over doesn't mean the season is done! There is some
great derby action in February, when the Minnesota Rollergils All-Stars
take on the Tuscon Roller Derby.

More info: http://s.iphouse.com/2veij1

The first All Stars event is Saturday February 5th, 2011. Derby begins
at 7:30.

There are weekly gatherings on Wednesdays at the Hack Factory that are
open to everyone. Currently they are informal gatherings where we talk
geek, show off our accomplishments and hang out.

If you are coming by to check out the space, feel free to bring what you

see your stuff.
