We had a machine failure first thing this new year. This server
handles some of our Windows Web hosting sites for our customers
hosted on IIS websites. This only affected those particular sites that
are on iis-4.iphouse.net, and not any of the other windows web hosting
servers here. Nor did it affect anything for other services.
The host server failed in a strange and exciting new way that had the
system hardware monitor saying everything is fine, but yet it didn't
recognize the RAID config or one of the disks in the RAID.
Since the hardware system thought everything was good, it kept running
into some time this morning and crashed. :(
We have the bad disk yanked and will be replaced into the RAID ASAP.
We will be actively monitoring this system to make sure no other
hardware decides to flake out. All windows web hosting sites are back
online and are responding normally.
