My two cents here, I think a by-default convention of as#.micemn.net would work good. But we don't need to force the micemn.net domain. When folks are turning up a connection to MICE, it would probably be good to ask, along with other details, what they want the PTR record for their IP set to. I think most folks might prefer something including their own domain, like he.net is asking for.
