After an hour of digging around, reading logs, and a ton of testing, I failed over to the standby load balancer and web services are/were back online for www.iphouse.com. I thought there was a problem for other (customer) websites as well but it looks like I was wrong - this only affected the main ipHouse website. Then to make matters worse, after I rebooted the now-standby load balancer it then came back up as active. This creates a problem where the IP gateway MAC address has changed too often in too short of a period. UNIX-like systems protect themselves from rapidly changing MAC addresses by using a cache and unfortunately all of our load balanced services were caching the wrong MAC address after the double change in MAC addresses. All services are back online and I am going through all of the servers to verify operation.
