On April 12, 2013 from 6:00 AM CDT until 7:56AM CDT, portions of
downtown Minneapolis lost power due to an electrical fire in
an electrical vault in the CenturyLink building. This affected
several nearby blocks, including the TriTech building that ipHouse is in.

Our service was not interrupted in any fashion, as we run our
datacenter off of several UPS systems with battery backup and with a
diesel generator to provide extended power beyond that. The generator
kicked in and power transfer took over when the grid went down, just
as it is designed and tested to do.

If the outage was extended, we have contracts for diesel fuel
replenishment, and we would call in for additional fuel as required
when the onsite tanks get low.

Power was restored by Excel at 7:56AM CDT to downtown, and everything
transfered back cleanly and without issue.
