Back in March 2017, Edgecast announced they were going to connect to MICE, but something fell through. I don't know details, but I got the impression it was contractual details.

FYI, we had a ~20G spike in Akamai traffic last night from about 03:15 to 06:00.

Roadblocks? Hardly surprising with recent changes and our own experiences. Quickly becoming another “eh, might as well be Equinix at this point” kind of a thing.

Who/What are "your hosts"?

Yep…….I believe you should talk to your hosts about that.

Has anybody approached EdgeCast / Verizon Media about connecting to MICE?

Our transit traffic is way up today compared to normal. It started around 1:30am and we're at levels now that we normally see at 9pm for transit. Our peering is at a normal level.

Lots of traffic from Edgecast and Akamai not coming through the IX but through our HE connection.

Is there a new Apple release or something? This is bigger than any Fortnite or Call of Duty download I've seen too.
